The first of my two final year projects, this was a theatre adaptation of Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride (2007) in accordance with The Costume Society's brief for their annual competition Patterns for Performance. My adaptation was set in 1890s England, with the costume I made for Emily (The Corpse Bride) being based on the 1870s Ballgown pattern from Norah Waugh's The Cut of Women's Clothes 1600 - 1930.
The second of my two final year project, an adaptation of Victoria Lamb's 2013 novel Witchfall from her Tudor Witch Trilogy. The adaptation was to turn the novel into a TV mini-series, focusing on historical accuracy in costume design and construction to create a realistic looking period drama.
A collaborative project undertaken in my first year at NTU, the project was to make and design music hall skirts based on pre-existing costumes from Victorian music hall performers. Once we designed our own skirts, we then made each other's design in our pair. The skirt pictured was designed and modelled by Issi Roberts, and was made my myself.
The final project of my first year at NTU. The brief was to design and make a historically accurate 1840s bodice for the character of Nancy from Charles Dickens' novel Oliver. The costume was for the part of the story where Nancy is beaten to death, so the costume had to be appropriately made and broken down.
